Forever Green

Specialty Sod Blend

Forever Green Specialty Sod Blend Growing at Our Northern Colorado Sod Farm
Forever Green

A New Generation of Sod with increased environmental benefits. Forever Green is a specialty sod blend of three top rated turfgrasses. Because Forever Green grows in almost any kind of soil and is tolerant to salt and alkalinity, it is a good sod choice for any area where turf wear is a major concern. Forever Green can be used in both shaded and full sun landscapes and still maintain a good aesthetic appearance. The grass blades are very fine and a nice green color. This specialty sod blend has a very low mowing tolerance down to ½" which will reduce maintenance costs. During the winter months when athletic sports fields and heavily used golf tees experience the most stress, Forever Green reports to not go dormant and continues to grow. The added benefit to non dormancy during stressful winter months is that the turf should offer optimum performance, beauty, safety and increased environmental benefits.

Variety Characteristics

Perennial Ryegrass exhibits rapid germination and it is an exceptionally fast establishing turfgrass. This grass reports early spring green-up and has excellent salt and alkalinity tolerance.
Tufted Hairgrass is resistant to fire. The roots of this turfgrass are rarely damaged by even hot intense fires and is Forest Service approved. Remarkably, this grass is also resistant to toxic waste and has been used in mining site reclamation landscapes. The combined benefits of fire and toxic waste resistance increases the safety and health of every individual, the community and our environment. Tufted Hairgrass is diverse enough that it can be used in shaded to full sun areas while maintaining a good aesthetic appearance.
Bluegrass is a drought, wear and cold tolerant turfgrass sod successfully used by many parks, athletic sports fields, school grounds, commercial lawns, institutional landscapes, xeriscape areas and residential lawns. The leaf texture is dark green in color when properly fertilized. Bluegrass produces underground stems called rhizomes which provide very desirable sod forming characteristics and recuperative potential superior to many other turfgrasses. Bluegrass sod is valuable for high turf density and disease resistance.
