Julius Kentucky Bluegrass

Julius is a NEW excellent elite variety of Kentucky Bluegrass for any athletic or sports turf. In addition, Julius is highly recommended for golf course fairways, tees and roughs and landscaping projects where high traffic use and superior durability is necessary. This variety is classified as an aggressive type of turf. Julius has an aggressive rhizomatous shoot growth that forms a well-knit durable, highly exceptional wear-tolerant turf. Julius is a fine bladed turf with a high to medium thatch that produces a cool hardy, persistent, attractive grass. Julius exhibits a good drought tolerance. Julius has a good leaf spot resistance and good disease resistance. This variety can tolerate mow heights as low as ½". Early spring green-up and a bright winter color are also desirable characteristics of this variety. In the 2001-2005 NTEP comparison trials, Julius scored a high seven for dark green color on a scale of one to nine. Julius is adaptable to a wide range of soils and climatic conditions.
